Richard P Golding set up Okra Glass in 1979. Richard is renowned for his glass recipes and designs, his use of iridescence, reduction, colour and surface decoration. Okra glass is highly collectible and is featured in museums, galleries, and private collections around the world. Originally inspired by artists such as Galle, Daum, and Tiffany, Richard's work is pushing boundaries with new pieces involving intricate layered, surface decoration, flameworking, cutting, and colour combinations. In the late 90's Moorcroft Pottery bought Okra Glass Studios and this association lasted for a few years until Richard bought Okra back from Moorcroft. Those are now known as the 'Okra Moorcroft Years'
